The electric two-wheeler scene in India is buzzing with activity these days. New products are launched one after another, providing customers with a variety of options to choose from. Now, Bengaluru-based electric vehicle start-up Simple Energy has entered the fray with its One electric scooter. Here are some important details you need to know about the highly anticipated Simple One.

Features of the Simple One electric scooter
The Simple One has a full LED lighting setup with an LED headlight, LED tail light and LED turn signals. This is a 4G compatible electric scooter with Bluetooth connectivity. There is a 7 inch touchscreen dashboard. Among its outstanding features are on-board navigation, geolocation, remote telemetry, music and call control, document storage and tire pressure monitoring system. It can also receive OTA updates.

The Simple One comes in four colors: Azure Blue, Brazen Black, Grace White and Namma Red.

The Simple One is equipped with a 7kW permanent magnet synchronous motor which is tuned to produce 72Nm of maximum torque. The motor can push the electric scooter from standstill to 40 km / h in 3.05 seconds (claimed). Depending on the size of the tires, the maximum speed is 98 km / h or 105 km / h (claimed). There are four riding modes: Eco, Ride, Dash and Sonic.
The One electric scooter is based on a tubular steel frame with telescopic suspension at the front and progressive monoshock symmetrically mounted at the rear. It receives 12-inch alloy rims shod with tubeless tires. There is a disc at the front (200 mm) and at the rear (190 mm). Combined braking and regenerative braking systems are also available.
Simple Energy claims to have developed and patented the powertrain and braking systems of the One electric scooter in-house.
Simple One electric scooter battery, range, charge
The Simple One’s motor is associated with a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery. The battery is removable and weighs 7 kg. According to IDC (Indian Drive Cycle), the range of the electric scooter is 236 km. According to the test carried out by Simple Energy, it is 203 km.
The battery can be charged 0-80% at home using a 15A outlet in 2.45 hours. Fast charging can recharge the battery for 2.5 km in one minute. Simple Energy recently introduced the Simple Loop charging network for public charging as well as home charging. It aims to launch more than 300 charging stations over the next seven months in 13 states.
Dimensions of the Simple One electric scooter
The Simple One is 1833mm long, 768mm wide and 1280mm high (with mirrors). Its wheelbase is 1,300 mm and the seat height is 775 mm. The wading pool limit is 300 mm. The empty weight of the electric scooter is 110 kg. The trunk can hold 30 liters of luggage.
Simple One Electric Scooter Reservations
Simple One was initially launched across Delhi and 12 states – Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Punjab. Reservations can be made for a symbolic amount of Rs 1,947.

The Simple One electric scooter is eligible for a grant under the second phase of the FAME India program. Customers can also get grants from the state.
