Ola Electric recently received one complaint after another regarding its electric scooter. But that hasn’t stopped the company from generating huge volumes with its electric scooter offering. Now Ola S1 Pro is the best selling electric scooter in India. And after stopping accepting new bookings for a while, the Bengaluru-based startup has now started accepting new bookings for the electric scooter.

However, the Ola S1 Pro is only offered. S1 is no longer listed, as its production has been temporarily halted. The company has also raised the price of the electric scooter by around Rs 10,000.

Ola electric scooter price increase

Earlier in March, the CEO of Ola announced that prices for the electric scooter would increase in the next buying window. Now, the prices of the Ola electric scooter have dropped from Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, excluding FAME II subsidy) to Rs 1.39 lakh, ex-sh. And what’s interesting is that the new retail price applies to all customers, including those who pre-booked in January this year. Some customers are unhappy with this decision and have raised the issue on social media.

Free Ola electric scooter for 10 S1 Pro owners

Ola recently recalled more than 1,400 electric scooters after multiple fires and other incidents were reported across the country. Now, Ola plans to roll out an updated version of its operating system along with an OTA update. The new MoveOS 2 will come with new features like new mobile connectivity, new mobile app and new ECO mode and promise better navigation. ECO mode is said to increase the overall range of the scooter has been added to the package.

Currently, a beta version of the new software is available to select customers. The final version of the software should be available to customers in the coming weeks. In an effort to promote the new software, the CEO of Ola had announced that they are offering a free S1 PRO Gerua color to any customer who can drive their Ola e-scooter for a distance of 200 km on a single charge. This feat was achieved by Karthik. He received his 2nd Ola scooter for free at a ceremony recently.

As many other S1 PRO owners have also asked Ola to extend the offer, the company has now decided to give away 10 free S1 Pro Gerua electric scooters for the first 10 owners who complete 200 km of range. One owner has already passed the previous peak and was announced as the winner of this competition. Deliveries of the free Ola electric scooter will take place in June, at the FutureFactory.
