BENGALURU: Ola Electric launched the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters on Sunday at Rs 99,000 and Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
Available in 10 colors in satin, matte and gloss finishes, Ola S1 comes with dual headlights, an ergonomic and fluid body, premium alloy rims, sculpted seats and the largest trunk space that fits comfortably with two helmets.
The S1 Pro variant sets new benchmarks in the industry with a range of 181 kilometers, acceleration from 0 to 40 km / h in 3 seconds and a top speed of 115 km / h.
It has a battery capacity of 3.97 kWh, over 30% higher than the next closest EV, and the most powerful motors in the class with 8.5 KW of peak power.
Ola S1 also comes with a proprietary Battery Management System (BMS) that actively works to monitor the battery for optimal durability, performance, range and safety.

It does not have a physical key and pairs with your phone thanks to its “digital key” function. This lets it know when you’re nearby and automatically unlock. It will also lock as you move away. It has a multi-microphone array, built-in AI speech recognition algorithms, and one of the sharpest and brightest 7-inch touchscreens.
With our in-house MoveOS, customers can not only change the look and feel of the screen, but also the sound of the scooter. It will have four moods at launch – Bolt, Care, Vintage and Wonder, and will deliver a personalized vehicle sound experience.
It will also come with three driving modes – Normal, Sport and Hyper. Ola S1 has an anti-theft alert system, geographic fence and a fireproof, water and dust resistant battery.
It also has front and rear disc brakes and a “Hill Hold” function which makes it easier to drive in traffic and navigate on slopes.
110/70 R12 tires, single-shock rear suspension and single-fork front suspension provide far superior road grip. It has a cruise mode which makes driving comfortable and convenient and a reverse mode which makes it easier to park and get out of tight spaces.
With a sturdy grab bar for added safety, a side step and sculpted seats, passenger passengers will also love the comfort of their ride. The scooters also come with voice recognition that lets you quickly complete your key tasks without having to worry about navigating the menu.
In states with active subsidies, Ola S1 will be much more affordable than many gasoline scooters. For example, after the state subsidy in Delhi, the S1 would cost only Rs 85,009 while in Gujarat it would only cost Rs 79,000. Ola has also partnered with banks and financial institutes to an EMI plan starting at Rs 2,999.
The first phase of Futurefactory is almost complete and Ola S1 will be purchased from September 8, 2021. Ola Electric will start delivering to 1000 towns and villages in October.
