EeVe India, an Odisha-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has introduced its flagship electric scooter in the country. Called EeVe Soul, the electric model has been priced at Rs 1.40 lakh. Apart from the Soul launch, the company has revealed plans to invest up to Rs 1,000 crore over the next two years. With this huge investment, EeVe will deploy new products, set up charging infrastructure, improve production capacity and expand sales network.
It aims to achieve a sales target of 50,000 units over the next two years and to hold a 10% market share in the electric two-wheeler segment. Currently, EeVe has 150 dealers and 300 sub-dealers across the country. The Odisha-based company’s factory has an annual production capacity of 3 lakh units, which will be increased to 5 lakh units per year in the coming years. Currently, EeVe sells 6 electric two-wheelers in India including low-speed models.
Speaking of its powertrain, the new EeVe Soul electric scooter comes with two 2.2kWh lithium ferrous phosphate (LFP) batteries offering a claimed combined range of 120km (only in Prime or Eco mode) and top speed 40 km/h. In the second and third modes, the electric scooter offers a maximum speed of 50 km/h and 60 km/h respectively.
Its batteries, which are placed in the trunk instead of the floor, are removable and interchangeable. This means that one can charge it via a regular power socket at home or in the office. The batteries take about 3-4 hours to be fully charged. The company offers a standard 3-year warranty with the electric scooter.
